ENGAGE is an award-winning Canadian Folk Rock, Folk Country, and Americana band from New Brunswick whose music is rooted in authentic storytelling, exceptional musicianship, and a shared passion for creating songs that connect on a deeply human level. Founded in 2020 by singer-songwriters Carla Bonnell and Rick Bartlett, ENGAGE was built on a simple but powerful vision—to write original music that is honest, meaningful, and memorable. Rather than following musical trends, the band focuses on crafting songs that reflect real life: its triumphs and struggles, its questions and celebrations, and the experiences that shape who we become. Their music invites listeners to laugh, reflect, heal, and find pieces of their own story within every lyric.

At the heart of ENGAGE is the creative partnership between Carla Bonnell and Rick Bartlett. Their collaboration combines two distinct artistic voices that complement one another while sharing the same commitment to authenticity, musical excellence, and heartfelt songwriting.

Carla Bonnell serves as the band's creative anchor. An accomplished singer-songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist, producer, and sound engineer, Carla's music is inspired by life's defining moments and the belief that songs have the power to encourage, challenge, and inspire. Her writing is deeply personal yet universally relatable, drawing listeners into stories filled with resilience, hope, reflection, faith, relationships, and personal growth. Alongside her, Rick Bartlett brings decades of musical experience, artistry, and creative vision that have become essential to ENGAGE's identity. A gifted singer-songwriter, guitarist, arranger, and musical craftsman, Rick possesses an instinctive ability to shape songs with memorable melodies, expressive guitar work, and thoughtful arrangements. Influenced by classic rock, blues, folk, country, and Americana, he creates guitar parts that are both tasteful and emotionally powerful—whether delivering delicate acoustic passages or soaring electric solos. His calm, collaborative nature, attention to detail, and passion for creating music that feels genuine have helped define the band's signature sound. Rick believes great music should never chase trends, but instead remain timeless, authentic, and emotionally honest. Completing the lineup are bassist Vernon Daigle and drummer Greg Mansfield, two musicians whose personalities and talents bring depth, energy, and character to every performance.

Vernon Daigle provides the steady heartbeat of the band's rhythm section. Their debut album, The Time Has Come, received the Bronze Award for Band Album of the Year from the International Singer Songwriters Association (ISSA). Their music has been embraced by radio stations across North America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and beyond, reaching an estimated cumulative audience of more than 66 million listeners. Their single "Guitar Strings" reached #1 on the European Academy of Country Music (EACM) Chart, while the band's work has also been featured in Cashbox Canada and Tittinus Magazine.

In 2026, ENGAGE was named a finalist for Band of the Year and Band Single of the Year for Unbattered at the International Singer Songwriters Association Awards. The band also earned five finalist nominations at the prestigious Josie Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, further recognizing their growing impact within the independent music community. Their achievements were complemented by Carla Bonnell's induction into the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame, celebrating her lasting contributions to Canadian music and songwriting.
